I caught a peek of the old cartoon today...
...and it didn't make me want to see the movie.
I'd be thrilled about seeing F4 if two of my favorite TV actors (McMahon and Chiklis) were actually on screen for most of the film, and not behind costumes and makeup.

Don't forget about the Fantastic 5....
That group was dubbed the "New" Fantastic Four... like Guyver said they were brought together by a Skrull in order to "avenge" the death of the real FF. Of course the FF weren't really dead, and the "new" FF were just being used by the Skrull, in the end both FF teams joined forces and saved the day...
